View A Shared Calendar

If someone on your system has shared their calendar, then you might want to see it.  Follow the directions below to view a shared calendar.  Remember that to see a shared calendar, the other person has to be on our webserver too.  Sharing calendars only works "within the family".  In simpler terms, the other person has to have the same thing at the end of their email address as you.
To start, go to your email using the webmail client.  You will use your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, whatever Apple or Linux uses), and not your typical email client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc...)

The webmail client will open into the Inbox.

Towards the top of the screen are some tabs.  One is labeled Calendar.  Click on that tab.

On the left, beneath Shared Calendars is a link to Add A Shared Calendar.  Click that.

On the next screen you SHOULD be able to see the email addresses of people whose calendars are available to you.  I say SHOULD because while writing this guide I noticed that my test account was not in the list.  If it was in the list, I could click on it and then click Add.   It would go to the right side.  Since it was not there, and I know for sure it is available, I typed the email address on the line labeled Email Address.  Then I clicked Add next to it, and it appeared in the list.  Click Save at the bottom of the screen to go on.  NOTE!  If your screen resolution is set low, the Save button may not be visible.

Now under Shared Calendars you will see the email address of the calendar of the person you added.

By default, you don't see their items on the calendar.  You have to put a check mark in the box next to their email address.  Do that by clicking one time on the box.  You should see the calendar items for the person you just added.  Note that the color of their items will be different.  In our example, "my" appointments are shaded yellow.  Joe's appointments are shaded pink.

Here's how you remove someone's calendar from the list.  At the top, find the Calendar tab.  On that tab is an upside down triangle.  Click on it to reveal a drop down menu.   Select Calendar Manager from the list.

In the center of the screen will be your available calendars, each listed by the person's email address.  To the right of the address will be some words.  Click Remove to remove that calendar from your list.

You will need to confirm the action.   Click OK.

In our example, there are no more calendars on the list.

When you finish with the Calendar Manager, go back to one of the other Webmail functions by clicking on the corresponding tab at the top of the screen.   Click Log Off at the top right when you want to exit the Webmail program.
