Community Service Block Grants
CSBG is the main source of federal funding for Community Action in the United States. Funding allows individuals and families to meet their basic needs, educate themselves, achieve self-sufficiency and improve their communities in the ways make the most sense. One of the key advantages to block grants like CSBG is that the funding is flexible, so the people who know an area best - people who live, work and raise their families there - decide whats needed most.
Do you know someone who:
- Needs assistance with a light bill or other utility payment?
- Is being evicted from their home?
- Needs a deposit to move into a house?
- Experienced a house fire in the past 30 days?
- Wants to improve their education with a short-term class?
If you know someone that needs assistance like this, ask them to call the Community Assistance office in their service area to see if we can help. Applications are taken by appointment only on Monday through Thursday. Please note that Wednesdays are reserved for elderly and disabled applicants only.
